Desert Sounds Performing Arts is excited to add Jacqueline Mendez Soto to the Board of Directors. She is co-founder and co-owner of Barton Mendez Soto PLLC, a law firm specializing in elections law and labor & employment law, focusing on improving the lives of people and our community through law and policy reform. Jacqueline practices elections and labor & employment law, in addition to her family law practice. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in justice studies from Arizona State University and a law degree from Boston College Law School. After law school, she clerked at the Arizona Court of Appeals for the Honorable Ann A. Scott Timmer, now Vice Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Arizona. Her background includes working for the National Labor Relations Board and serving as assistant general counsel of labor affairs with U-Haul International, Inc.
Her current and past community service includes being a lawyer on-call for the Arizona Legal Center, serving as a court-appointed special advocate for children in foster care, and serving meals with the Tempe Community Action Agency I-HELP Emergency Shelter. We welcome Jacqueline to the Board of Directors and look forward to working with her to improve the lives of young people through access to the arts by investing in one child and one instrument at a time.
