A Violin’s Journey: From Eagle Scout Project to Gala Spotlight

It started with a benefit concert and a bold idea: what if a few violins could change the course of a child’s life?

Years ago, Joseph Leung organized a fundraiser for Desert Sounds as part of his Eagle Scout project. With help from his dad, Jared, Managing Attorney at JCL Immigration Attorneys, he pulled off a concert that raised enough to purchase several instruments for students who otherwise wouldn’t have had the chance to play.

Fast forward to our most recent gala last April, where two of our mariachi students took the stage with those same violins. Their performance wasn’t just skilled, it was electric! What began as a service project turned into a full-circle moment, connecting generosity, culture, and youth leadership in action.

That’s what we mean when we say music is a bridge.

We’re grateful to the Leung Family and the JCL Immigration Attorneys team for backing more than just instruments. You backed potential—and we’re seeing the results unfold in real time.
